Green Teams

Do you want to help your faith community – whether church, congregation, synagogue or mosque – to get green, care for creation, and take action against climate change?  Do you recognize God’s call on you and your community to preserve and protect the gift of our world?

One way to make a difference is to gather those who share those concerns, so you can act and advocate together.  Such a gathering is often called a Green Team or Creation Care Team.  Green Teams often start small and local, but can grow in scope and vision to impact the world beyond.

Here we offer resources from various groups to help people get such teams started and making an impact.  This list includes a range of material from a number of faith perspectives.  Despite jargon which may be specific to one faith, the principles, techniques, and tactics can be adapted and translated into other faith traditions.

Faiths Connect for Climate Action

Wisconsin Creation Care Ambassadors and Citizens Climate Lobby teamed up to form this group, which helps faith-based Green Teams network, learn more about climate action, and support one another.  We also support and encourage the formation of new teams.

If you’d like to join the Faiths Connect for Climate Action email list, please register below. We have quarterly virtual get-togethers with speakers and breakout discussions, as well as occasional social and networking events.

If you’d like to start a Green Team in your faith community, let us know, and we can offer advice and encouragement to get you started.
