Rev. Ed Brown

Rev. Edward (Ed) Brown is the founding director of Care of Creation and has worked in the field of creation care or Christian environmental stewardship for 20 years. He got his start with Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies, where he served as Chief Operating Officer for five years, having worked prior in a variety of different ministry roles.  Ed serves the Lausanne Movement as a Catalyst for Creation Care.

He speaks widely, has authored several books, and is most well-known for his work establishing the  Lausanne/WEA Creation Care Network  through a Global Campaign for Creation Care and the Gospel which has run from 2012 to the present and has touched people in 150 countries. He is primary editor of the monthly The Pollinator newsletter.

Ed is the author of Our Father’s World: Mobilizing the Church to Care for Creation, When Heaven and Nature Sing, and numerous articles and several book chapters. He is also the presenter of the seminar “Our Father’s World: Why Christians Should Care about the Environmental Crisis.” He has the B.A. from Gordon College (Wenham MA), M. Div. from Gordon Conwell Seminary (South Hamilton, Massachusetts), Doctor of Divinity (honorary) from the Acts Academy of Higher Education, Bangalore India, and is an Honorary Fellow with the Nelson Institute of Environmental Studies, University of Wisconsin, Madison Wisconsin.

Ed and his wife Susanna, who was also a child of missionaries in Pakistan, live in Madison, Wisconsin and are the parents of four grown children (a son and three daughters).
